About MCR Welfare
In the MCR, the welfare of our members is our highest priority. It is for this reason, that there are multiple roles on the MCR committee specifically for welfare-related issues.
This page serves as a summary of what we provide, and which people on the committee to get in touch with for specific issues.
Our Welfare Team
The MCR Welfare Team currently consists of Fiona Baumhauer, Tom Lechmere, Liv Smith, Hannah Bazin and Claire Saint-Amour. They can be reached as a group at mcr-welfare-all@clare.cam.ac.uk.
Fiona, Tom, Liv, Hannah and Claire are generally responsible for making sure there's sufficient welfare provision for MCR members. This is via things we can provide ourselves as an MCR (like welfare teas, movie nights, sexual health supplies, signposting and just lending a sympathetic ear), but also by liaising with the college nurses and the student union to ensure the more professional provisions are adequate and advocate for improvements where needed.
Within the team there are specific welfare roles so that there should always be someone appropriate on the committee that you can raise issues with regarding male-specific, female-specific, non-binary, LGBTQ+, and BAME welfare, as well as just general welfare issues.
General Welfare

LGBTQ+ Welfare
Our LGBTQ+ Welfare Officer is Tom Lechmere. They can be reached on mcr-lgbt@clare.cam.ac.uk.
Tom is the one to get in touch with if you have an LGBTQ+-specific welfare issue.
BAME Welfare

Disability Welfare
